1. EQUITIES MARKET 

 

1.1 NGX  Listed Equities

The Nigerian stock market closed negatively, losing 16.39 basis points, reflecting a negative market breadth.

 

The NGX All-Share Index declined by 0.02% to close at 98,152.91 basis points, compared to the previous day's gain of 0.05% to close at 98,169.30 basis points. The NGX Market CAP also recorded a loss of N9.27bn Naira terms.

 

YTD, the NGXASI Stands at 31.27%

 

The total volume traded declined by 10.81% to close at N265.07m, valued at N5.02bn and traded in 6,582 deals. UBA was the most traded stock by volume and value, with N42.35m and N980.01m units traded, respectively.

 

The Gote Index closed flat at 347.33 basis points, while the Toni index advanced by 0.17% to close at 1,281.48 basis points.

 

At the close of trading, the market recorded 18 gainers, 19 losers, and 86 unchanged. FBNH topped the gainers' list, while SOVRENINS topped the losers' list.    

 

Thus, the market closed with a negative market breadth index (MBI) of -0.01x

 

Volume and Value Contribution

UBA had the highest volume, contributing 15.98%, while ACCESSCORP and TIP followed closely.  

 

The value chart shows that UBA contributed the most, with a 19.51% share.  ZENITHBANK and  GTCO followed closely behind.
