Nigerian Equities Market closedthe month of November 2020 in the green zone as market sustained the renewedbargain hunting witnessed during the previous month trading sessions. TheNSEASI inched up by +14.78% asagainst +13.79% gainrecorded in the month of October 2020 while the NASD USI closed northwardswith +0.28% gainrecorded at the end of the month under review as against -0.48%loss in October 2020.

 

YTD, the NSEASI has inched up by +30.55% while the NASD USI alsoinched up by +4.98% so far in the year.

 

On marketdevelopment, regulation and investors protection, the Securities and  Exchange Commission has proposedsundry amendments to its rules on renewal of registration byCapital Market Operators (CMOs) and quarterly returns forms for unit trustschemes fund managers. This actions is expected to assist the Commission inkeeping a reliable data bank of all CMOs registered in the Nigerian CapitalMarket and also provide information on the operators to both local and foreigninvestors as well as the general public.

 

Also,the Nigerian Stock Exchange announced a revision to the stamp duty paid onNSE transactions to 0.08% from 0.075% effective December 7th, 2020. The Central SecuritiesClearing System Plc (CSCS) is expected to adjust its system to implement the automateddeduction of the Stamp Duty rate of 0.08% on the effective date while CMOs are required to engagetheir software vendors for the required adjustments to their technologyapplications, to reflect the 0.08% rate ahead of the effective date
