The Seoul Dialogue on Africa, which was first held in 2018, the same year with the launch of the Korea-Africa Foundation, is an annual international conference seeking to gather policy proposals towards building a strategic partnership between Korea and Africa, and to facilitate research on Africa in Korea by strengthening networks between scholars, researchers and other various stakeholders from both sides.
The government of the Republic of Korea has regularly convened its Korea-Africa Forum (KOAF), which was first held in 2006 under the "Korea's Initiative for African Development" setting out a blueprint to strengthen Korea's role in the promotion of socio-economic development of African countries. In this context, the Seoul Dialogue on Africa serves as the 1.5 track of the KOAF.
Under the title of “Resilience and Leap Forward: Four Key Strategic Areas for a Post-Crisis Era,” the 5th Seoul Dialogue on Africa will provide opportunities for domestic and international scholars and experts on Africa to share their opinions and discuss the strategic directions from the policy and academic perspectives.
