Lagos State Governor Mr. Babajide Sanwo-Olu, the African Union, AU and Economic Community of West Africa States, EU last week Friday,October 29^th, 2021, lauded Ecobank Group on the opening of its PanAfrican Centre.

At an event attended by Past Board Chairmen and Managing Directors,Elder statesmen, seasoned bankers, technocrats and professionals, GovernorSanwoolu described Ecobank as a true reflection of the diversity of Nigeria.

The Governor also commended the banking group for providing innovative productsfor the Nigerian financial market, which has helped deepen financial inclusionin the country.

He assured the bank stakeholders that Lagos state would continue toprovide an enabling business environment for the financial services industry tothrive in Nigeria.

This, according to him, will include; a 3,000km fibre-optic connectionacross the state to support broadband penetration, an integrated and dynamictransportation network covering rail and the waterways.

Ambassador Albert Muchanga, who represented the Africa Union at theevent, said the Ecobank Pan African Center would support Africa's quest to havestrategic financial centers in the region.

He added that Ecobank had demonstrated the capacity of the Africanprivate sector in driving trade, growth and development in the region.

The Chairman of Ecobank Nigeria, Mrs. Bola Adesola, said the Pan AfricanCenter would drive productivity and deliver efficient customer service.

She said the EPAC was built with energy-efficient technology, aligningwith the Lagos state intelligent city initiative.

Bola Adesola believed the commissioning of the EPAC would repositionEcobank Nigeria to provide real-time digital banking service to Nigerians.

IN HIS ADDRESS, the CEO of Ecobank Nigeria Mr. Patrick Akinwuntan,thanked the entire staff and management of the bank for their selflessness,dedication, resilience, diligence, commitment, and hardwork,  which hasseen the bank evolve into a key financial institution in the country andregion.

He said the EPAC would be leveraged to scale dynamic, innovative andinclusive financial services in Nigeria and Sub-Saharan Africa.
