Dr. Olufemi is a technology strategist with over 25 years experience in delivering value propositions across vertical organizations, enterprise, and public sector with a resolve to achieve efficiencies, effectiveness in operational management, and revenue leveraging IT/ICT. He is also a data scientist who leads the Oracle Solution Pattern, as part of the data engineering information management capabilities. Olufemi who being a medical professional has associated bouquet of degrees from Harvard business School, Colombia business college, Imperial College London as well as Pan African University Lagos.

 

A certified member of information management society, Royal college of Engineer, and Certified Enterprise data miner. He is also an advisory to board members of Data Scientist Nigeria and extends different advisory responsibilities in Africa and Europe. He’s depth in the telecommunication industries, BT, MTNN spans over 15 years with pitch insight in security white papers produced on Enterprise Data Lake, internet of things, and business intelligence. He was responsible for MTN Group Enterprise architecture blueprint leadership.

  • Mr. Babangida YAHAYA-Head, Depository Services, CSCS Plc 

Topic: Understanding the Clearing and Settlement System in the Age of Distributed Ledger Technology- Moving the Needle Forward.

 

Mr. Babangida YAHAYA is the Head, Depository of Central Securities Clearing System Plc (CSCS), a position he assumed in March 2020. He has overall responsibility for Supervising the delivery of depositary services to a growing portfolio of real estate and private equity fund clients. Manage existing and new depositary client relationships. 

 

Mr. Babangida YAHAYA has about 15years of cognate banking and capital market experience, with the last 8 years holding various management capacities.  

 

Prior to taking up the role as the Head, Depository, CSCS, he was Lead, Operations Transformation (SQA)- Group Operations. He has worked extensively in cross functional roles; he possesses unique experience and skill set which he deploys towards achieving strategic corporate objectives. His cross functional work experience overtime has exposed him to several functions such as Business Operations, Business Development (Corporate & Retail Banking), Process Improvement, Strategy, Special Projects, Client Relations, Mergers & Acquisitions, Collateral Management, Securities Lending & Borrowing and Depository Services etc.

 

Mr. Babangida YAHAYA has an antecedent for managing big teams, repositioning them and keeping them engaged towards the realization of corporate goals. A certified Trainer that also contribute to several mentoring programmes.

Mr. Bola AJOMALE is currently the Managing Director of Sophus Consulting Limited, a wholesale capital markets consulting service focused on deepening African capital markets. 

 

Bola Ajomale is a capital market professional who has worked fastidiously in the finance industry both local and abroad for over 30 years. His experience covers accounting, stockbroking, investment banking, syndications, asset management, capital market regulation and fintech.
 He has a deep passion for innovating to expand the depth of the capital market and funding access to SMEs. 


 Bola read Economics with a major in accounting in the University of Leeds in West Yorkshire United Kingdom and graduated in 1984. He has over the last 30 years continued to provide service to his community in the areas of finance and advice. Bola has also been an influential advocate for financial literacy in Nigeria and improvement in the rules and practice of the financial market.

 

He has gathered over 15 years of chief executive experience and has pioneered two major start-ups.


 As a leader, he demonstrated strong visionary, problem solving and communication skills.

 

  • Chinwe EKEH – Head, Operations, and IT, NASD Plc 

Topic: OTC’s New Normal; winning with Distributed Ledger Technology (DLT)- Understanding Products, Processes, and People. 

 

Chinwendu Ekeh is skilled in process, product, and software development with 10+ experience in CSD Operations, capital market dynamics, product delivery and deployment.   Currently the Head, Market Operations & Information Technology at NASD OTC Securities Exchange (NASD) Plc. She specializes in seeing products/software through all stages of product and market development.

 

Chinwe is a graduate of Computer Science from the Yaba College of Technology. She proceeded to obtain her master’s degree in Business Administration (MBA) from Business School of Netherlands (BSN), also master’s in information technology and currently pursuing her Doctorate Program in Business Administration with a research focus on Distributed Ledger Technology. She is an Associate Member of the Chartered Institute of Stockbrokers, Member of the Chartered Institute of Securities & Investment (UK). 

 

 

  • Yusuf OGUNTOLA – Chief Technology Officer, AFEX Nigeria            

Topic: Improving Agricultural Output by Applying Distributed Ledger Technology (DLT) -The Opportunities and Challenges.

 

 Yusuf OGUNTOLA is a first-class graduate of Computer Science who is an experienced software developer that has developed & deployed software solutions ranging from desktop to mobile and enterprise solutions using software best practices. He has more than 5years of professional work experience working for/with several organizations ranging from SMEs to Multinationals. 

 

Mr. Yusuf is currently the Chief Technology Officer of AFEX where he is currently overseeing the development and dissemination of technology for external customers, vendors, and other clients to help improve and increase business.

 

  • Mr. Akinsola AKEREDOLU-ALE - Managing Director, LCFE

Topic: Online Trading in the Age of Distributed Ledger Technology (DLT): The Doubts, the Pains, and the Opportunities 

 

Akinsola Akeredolu-Ale is the Managing Director/CEO of Lagos Commodities and Futures Exchange, an Astute Market Analyst and Operator, Akinsola has worked in various capacities since he qualified as an authorized dealing clerk of The Nigerian Stock Exchange in 1994. He became a Chartered Stockbroker in 1995 and a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Stockbrokers in 2008. His first degree was earned from the University of Lagos. He has a master’s degree in corporate Governance from the Leeds Metropolitan University, UK, and is an Associate Member of The Nigerian Institute of Management. He has served on various Technical Committees of the Securities and Exchange Commission and The Nigerian Stock Exchange. He served on the Technical Committee for the Emerging Capital Markets Task Force UK (ECMT) tasked with the setting up of an operational and legal framework to facilitate emerging markets with special attention to Nigeria.

 

At various times he served on various committees at the Federal Government level including Vision 2020 Corporate Governance Thematic Group, The Coordinator Financing Mechanism for The National Integrated infrastructure Master Plan and the coordinator Financing Mechanism for the First Operational Plan (FOP) for The National Integrated Infrastructure Master Plan 2017-2020. Akin has over 26 years of experience in Wealth Management both in Capital and Money Markets.

His career began as a Manager in Fidelity Finance Company in 1992. He has managed large portfolios since then. In 1997, he was the pioneer General Manager and Chief Executive Officer of BFCL Assets & Securities Limited (A subsidiary of Oceanic International Bank Plc). In 1999. He was the Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of State Street Global Acquisition Limited, a position he held until he joined Fountain Securities Limited in the capacity of an External Consultant in 2002. He then moved to Arian Capital Management in 2006 to 2008 as the Chief Operating Officer before joining DSU Brokerage as The Managing Director. He was the vice Chairman of Association of Securities dealing Houses of Nigeria (ASHON). He has over 26 years’ experience in the capital Market Operations in: Assets Management, private Banking, Stockbroking, Marketing, Financial restructuring/ re-engineering, Project Finance, and Capital Formation.


  • Abdulqudus ISIAKA – Senior Economist/Analyst, Proshare  

Insights from the Report and Customer Surveys 

 

Abdulqudus is a Senior Economist at Proshare. He heads the Market Intelligence unit which covers developments in the domestic and global economies as well as in the financial markets. Abdulqudus holds a master’s degree from Heriot-Watt University, Scotland UK, and a bachelor’s degree from the University of Lagos.

 

Abdulqudus is passionate about alternative investment, private equity, and venture capital. He loves to deploy his strong analytical and communication skills, financial savvy, and deft visualization skills to endow the investing public with top-of-the-range business intelligence.

 

Abdulqudus has his other major interests in Macroeconomic Analysis and forecasting, Capital Market, Technology, Islamic Banking, and Finance. Abdulqudus has participated in, facilitated, and served as a repertoire at several academic and non-academic discussions and conferences.
