Opolo Global Innovation Limited, an innovation enabler, incubator and accelerator focused on turning ideas into high-value commercial assets, on Monday, April 25, 2022, signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with the University of Edinburgh, Scotland.
The partnership designed to synergize efforts and scale innovation globally will immensely benefit Nigeria and Africa. Dr. Segun Aina, the Chairman of Opolo Global, signed on behalf of Opolo Global Innovation. In contrast, Professor James Smith, the Vice Principal International University of Edinburgh, signed on the university's behalf.
The MOU provides opportunities for the following:
- Co-organize innovation and research for innovation and commercialization mission/study tours.
- Co-conduct research and co-create solutions for commercialization
- Fund innovations and research projects for commercialization of innovations
- Co-organize events and programs to harvest knowledge, ideas, and innovations for commercialization; and host others.
Opolo thrives on the D.I.S.E initiative that covers Digital, Innovation, Skills and Enterprise and builds partnerships to improve the product development process and commercialize innovation and society-focused research.
It also seeks to leverage global partnerships to facilitate the commercialization of innovations to empower innovators; and cultivate a global pipeline of quality mentorships, talent collaborations and a network of programs.
Recently Opolo Global opened two innovation hubs in the Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife and Osun State University, Osogbo, supporting research and development in Nigeria.
