The 2023 appropriation bill of the Federal Republic of Nigeria was today passed by the Senate after extensive deliberations on the committee’s report.
According to its official twitter handle, after the report of the Senate Committee on Appropriations was laid by Senator Barau Jibrin before the Upper Chamber of the National Assembly, the supplementary was considered.
The Supplementary budget covered the following items:
i. Federal Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development-N69.24bn
ii. Federal Ministry of Works & Housing-N704.78bn
iii. Federal Capital Territory-N30bn
iv. Federal Ministry of Water Resources-N15.5bn
After the consideration of the report, the Senate passed the 2022 supplementary budget. Also, the 2022 Finance bill presented by Senator Solomon Adeola, the Chairman of the Committee of Finance was considered for passage.
It was reverted to the plenary session and after deliberations, the 2022 Finance bill went through the third reading and was passed by the Senate.
