PresidentMuhammadu Buhari will today depart Nigeria for China to participate in the 7^thsummit of the Forum on China-Africa Coopertion (FOCAC), scheduled to holdSeptember 3-4, 2018 in Beijing.

During hisvisit the President will engage the Nigerian Community in China at aninteractive session in the Nigerian embassy.

The Presidentwill deliver his remarks at the high-level dialogue between Chinese-Africanleaders, business representatives and African entrepreneurs, before thecommencement of the FOCAC summit.

He will holdbi-lateral meetings with President Xi Jinping and Prime Minister Li Keqiang nduse the occasion to assess the level of progress made so far in the Chineseintervention in key infrastructure projects in Nigeria i.e railways and powerprojects.

They will alsodiscuss infrastructure financing for strategic projects and the upgrading theNigeria-China relations “from strategic partnership to comprehensive strategicpartnership”.

There will beroundtable sessions at the FOCAC summit which the President will attend withChinese African leaders, under the theme “Towards an even stronger Africa-ChinaCommunity with a Shared Future”.

The Presidentwill be accompanied by his wife the First Mrs Aisha Buhari, who will attend aSpouses programme on China-Africa at the Great Hall of the People, under thetheme “Joining Hands for a Future of AIDS”.

Others on thePresident’s entourage include; Governors Mohammed Abdullahi Abubakar, Bauchi,Akinwunmi Ambode, Lagos, Mohammed Badaru Abubakar, Jigawa and Anayo RochasOkorocha, Imo.

Senatorstravelling with the President to China are Adbullahi Adamu, Kebbi, GeorgeAkume, Benue, Godswill Akpabio, Aka Ibom and Aliyu Wamakko, Sokoto.

Members of theFederal Executive Council who will be in China wth the President are MRGeoffrey Onyema, Foreign Affairs, Rt.Hon Rotimi Amaechi, Transportation,Muhanmad Bello, FCT, Senator Udo Udoma, Budget and National Planning, MrBabatunde Fashola, Work , Power & Housing, Dr Emmanuel Ibe Kachikwu,Petroleum (State), Engr Suleiman Adamu, Water Resurces and Capt. Hadi Sirika,Aviation(State).
