Nigerian Equities Market closed negative as the key market indicator advanced by 163.66 bps amid positive market breadth
The NGX All-Share Index declined by 0.31% to close at 52,348.82 basis points as against a 0.89% loss recorded previously to close at 52,512.48 basis points at the end of the last trading session. In Naira terms, the NGX Market CAP records a N89.14bn loss.
YTD, the NGXASI Stands at +2.14%
The total volume traded declined by 2.16% to close at N28.51m, valued at N3.25bn and traded in 5,219 deals. UBA was the most traded stock by volume with 22.93m units traded while GTCO was also the most traded stock by value which is put at N482.50m
Sectoral performance was broadly positive as three (3) NGX sector index closed northward, twelve (12) closed southward and three (3) closed flat. The NGX INSURANCE index advanced by 0.39% to top the gainer’s chart while the NGX BANKING index declined by 3.39% to top the losers’ chart.
The Gote index advanced by 0.08% to close at 141.17 basis points while the Toni index declined by 2.86% to close at 120.37 basis points.
At the close of trading, the market recorded 20 gainers to 23 losers and 54 unchanged. PRESCO topped the list of gainers while CHELLARAM topped the list of losers.
