Nigerian Equities Market closed negative as the key market indicator declined by 67.98 bps amid negative market breadth.
The NGX All-Share Index declined by 0.13% to close at 54,299.76 basis points as against a 0.29% gain recorded previously to close at 54,367.74 basis points at the end of the last trading session. In Naira terms, the NGX Market CAP records a N37.03bn loss.
YTD, the NGXASI Stands at +5.95%
The total volume traded advanced by 4.38% to close at N200.04m, valued at N7.62bn and traded in 4,380 deals. FCMB was the most traded stock by volume with 27.98m units traded while GEREGU was the most traded stock by value which is put at N4.18bn
Sectoral performance was broadly negative as seven (7) NGX sector index closed northward, eight (8) sector index closed southward and three (3) closed flat. The NGX Oil and Gas index advanced by 0.54% to top the gainer’s chart while the NGX Insurance index declined by 0.80% to top the losers’ chart.
The Gote index declined by 0.67% to close at 138.57 basis points while the Toni index advanced by 0.38% to close at 125.91 basis points.
At the close of trading, the market recorded 20 gainers to 26 losers and 68 unchanged. CONOIL topped the list of gainers while JAPAULGOLD topped the list of losers.
Thus, market breadth closed negative as the Market Breadth Index (MBI) is put at -0.09x.
