Nigerian Equities Market closed negative as the key market indicator declined by 95.08 bps amid positive market breadth.
The NGX All-Share Index declined by 0.18% to close at 52,657.88 basis points as against a 0.29% gain recorded previously to close at 52,752.96 basis points at the end of the last trading session. In Naira terms, the NGX Market CAP records a N51.79bn loss.
YTD, the NGXASI Stands at +2.74%
The total volume traded advanced by 22.50% to close at N171.1m, valued at N2.34bn and traded in 3,559 deals. FIDELITYBANK was the most traded stock by volume with 26.64m units traded while MTNN was also the most traded stock by value which is put at N407.50m
Sectoral performance was broadly negative as five (5) NGX sector index closed northward, ten (10) sector index closed southward and three (3) closed flat. The NGX INSURANCE index advanced by 0.36% to top the gainer’s chart while the NGX PREMIUM index declined by 0.76% to top the losers’ chart.
The Gote index stayed flat to close at 139.42 basis points while the Toni index declined by 0.35% to close at 121.58 basis points.
At the close of trading, the market recorded 24 gainers to 11 losers and 62 unchanged. CAP topped the list of gainers while CUTIX topped the list of losers.
Thus, market breadth closed flat as the Market Breadth Index (MBI) is put at 4.77x.
