Nigerian Equities Market halted uptrend as market sentiment turned negative at the close of trading today.
The NGX All-Share index dipped by -0.14% to close at 53,193.98 basis points as against +0.35% gain recorded at the end of the previous trading session. In Naira terms, the NGX Market CAP records N41.46bn loss
YTD, the NGXASI Stands at +24.53%
The total volume traded grew by +6.11% to close at 234.62m, valued at N2.75bn and traded in 4,232 deals. TRANSCORP was the most traded stock by volume with 30.43m units traded, while PRESCO was the most traded stock by value which is put at N459.96m.
Sectoral performance was broadly negative as three (3) NGX sector indices closed northward, ten (10) closed southward while five (5) closed flat. The NGX Consumer Goods Index inched up by +0.13% while the NGX Banking Index dipped by -0.86% to top all sector indices otherwise.
Gote index moved up by 0.03% to close at 144.39 basis points while Toni index also closed green with +0.36% gain recorded to close 117.66 basis points.
At the close of trading, market recorded 15 gainers to 17 losers and 74 unchanged. CAVERTON topped the list of gainers CHAMPION topped the list of losers. Thus, market breadth closed negative.

Access Holdings Plc trading as Access Corporation (‘the Corporation’) has announces that its wholly owned subsidiary, Access Bank Plc (‘the Bank’) has entered into a binding agreement with Kenyan-based Centum Investment Plc (‘Centum’) for the acquisition of the entire 83.4% equity stake held by Centum in Sidian Bank Ltd (‘Sidian’).

The FMDQ Debt Market Size declined by 1.55% to close at N27.37trn from previous figure of N27.80trn

The overnight lending rate advanced by 0.83% to close at 8.33% while the Open Repo (OPR) rate also advanced by 0.75% to close at 7.50%

The ACI closed moved up by 0.62% to close at 476.78 basis points as against previous figure of 476.78 while the AEI also closed flat at 196.43 basis points as against previous figure of 197.95 basis points.
