1. EQUITIES MARKET
Nigerian Equities Market maintained negative posture as the bears continue to dominate market activities.
The NGX All-Share Index dipped by -0.06% to close at 51,556.54 basis points as against 0.40% loss recorded at the end of the previous trading session. In Naira terms, the NGX Market CAP records N16.15bn loss.
YTD, the NGXASI Stands at +20.69%
The total volume traded declined by -42.35% to close at 135.26m, valued at N1.44bn and traded in 3,745 deals. TRANSCORP was the most traded stock by volume with 15.55m units traded while GTCO was the most traded stock by value which is put at N267.09m.
Sectoral performance was mixed as seven (7) NGX sector index closed northward, seven (7) closed southward while three (3) closed flat. The NGX MERIVAL Index inched up by +0.17% while the NGX Insurance Index dipped by -1.36% to top all sector indices otherwise.
Gote index closed flat at 143.16 basis points while Toni index closed green with +0.20% gain recorded to close at 113.16 basis points.
At the close of trading, market recorded 15 gainers to 16 losers and 61 unchanged. ACADEMY topped the list of gainers while NEM topped the list of losers. Thus, market breadth closed negative as the Market Breadth Index (MBI) is put at -0.02x.
