1. EQUITIES MARKET 

 

Nigerian Equities Market closed positive as the key market indicator advanced by 365.40 bps amid positive market breadth

 

The NGX All-Share Index advanced by 0.73% to close at 50,300 basis points as against a 0.46% gain recorded previously to close at 49,934.60 basis points at the end of the last trading session. In Naira terms, the NGX Market CAP records a N199.02bn gain.

 

YTD, the NGXASI Stands at +17.75% 

 

The total volume traded declined by 1.65% to close at 490.48m, valued at N7.75bn and traded in 4,480 deals. FBNH was the most traded stock by volume with 271.36m units traded while FBNH was also the most traded stock by value which is put at N3.2bn 

 

Sectoral performance was broadly positive as fifteen (15) NGX sector index closed northward, one (1) closed southward and two (2) closed flat. The NGXGROWTH index advanced by 5.37% to top the gainer’s chart while the NGXMERIGRW index declined by 1.01% to top the losers’ chart.

 

The Gote index advanced by 0.15% to close at 136.23 basis points while the Toni index advanced by 1.59% to close at 117.15 basis points.

 

At the close of trading, the market recorded 35 gainers to 9 losers and 59 unchanged. GEREGU topped the list of gainers while LIVESTOCK topped the list of losers. 

 

Thus, market breadth closed positive as the Market Breadth Index (MBI) is put at 0.44x.

 

Volume and Value Contribution

FBNH led the volume’s chart with 55.33% contribution and closely followed by GTCO and ZENITHBANK

 

FBNH tops the value’s chart with 41.32% contribution and followed by GTCO and GEREGU

In the energy market, Brent declined by 2.42% and WTI also declined by 1.96% as of 08: 41 AM Central Daylight Time (CDT)

 

 

The naira at the I&E FX Window depreciated by 0.07% to close at N461.67/USD while the NAFEX rate depreciated by 0.64% to close at N457.67/USD
