Nigerian Equities Market halts downtrend to close in the green zone as key market indicator closed above 51,000 basis points
The NGX All-Share index inched up by +0.66% to close at 51,091.75 basis points as against -1.97% loss recorded at the end of the previous trading session. In Naira terms, the NGX Market CAP records N180.61bn gain
YTD, the NGXASI Stands at +19.61%
The total volume traded declined by -51.60% to close at 166.97m, valued at N2.73bn and traded in 4,398 deals. TRANSCORP was the most traded stock by volume with 19.34m units traded while SEPLAT was the most traded stock by value which is put at N556.03m.
Sectoral performance was broadly positive as ten (10) NGX sector index closed northward, five (5) closed southward while two (2) closed flat. The NGX Premium Board Index inched up by +2.52% while the NGX AFRBVI Board Index dipped by -0.29% to top all sector indices otherwise.
Gote index inched up by 7.81% to close at 140.73 basis points while Toni index also closed green with +0.14% gain recorded to close at 113.65 basis points.
At the close of trading, market recorded 14 gainers to 21 losers and 64 unchanged. LIVESTOCK topped the list of gainers BUAFOODS topped the list of losers. Thus, market breadth closed negative as the Market Breadth Index (MBI) is put at -0.11x.
