Nigerian Equities Market erased previous day loss to close positive amid positive market sentiment.
The NGX All-Share index inched up by +0.06% to close at 53,201.38 basis points as against -0.04% loss recorded at the end of the previous trading session. In Naira terms, the NGX Market CAP records N16.52bn gain
YTD, the NGXASI Stands at +24.55%
The total volume traded declined by -14.19% to close at 273.24m, valued at N2.65bn and traded in 4,584 deals. TRANSCORP was the most traded stock by volume with 103.42m units traded while GTCO was the most traded stock by value which is put at N393.92m.
Sectoral performance was broadly positive as ten (10) NGX sector indices closed northward, five (5) closed southward while two (2) closed flat. The NGX Pension Index inched up by +0.30% while the NGX Insurance Index dipped by -0.50% to top all sector indices otherwise.
Gote index closed flat at 144.39 basis points while Toni index closed red with +0.08% gain recorded to close 116.93 basis points.
At the close of trading, market recorded 13 gainers to 15 losers and 72 unchanged. FIDSON topped the list of gainers MRS topped the list of losers. Thus, market breadth closed negative as the Market Breadth Index (MBI) is put at -0.03x.

UBA Plc has announced that it has redeemed its $500 million 5-year Eurobond notes, with a maturity date of June 8, 2022. Issued in 2017, the five-year bond was offered at a coupon rate of 7.75%. As part of UBA’s liability management strategies, in November 2021, the Group repurchased $310.9 million of the notes through a cash tender offer. Upon maturity, the outstanding portion of $189.1 million and the coupon of $7.3 million were paid.

The FMDQ Debt Market Size advanced by 1.68% to close at N27.88trn from previous figure of N27.42trn
2.2 Overnight and Open Repo (OPR)
The overnight lending rate advanced by 6.50% to close at 14.00% while the Open Repo (OPR) rate also advanced by 6.50% to close at 13.75%
