Emefiele to Provide 2022 Economic Insights at the 56th Annual Bankers Dinner

TheChartered Institute of Bankers of Nigeria has concluded an arrangement to hostthe Governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN), Mr. Godwin Emefiele, at the56th Annual Bankers Dinner on Friday, November 26, 2021, at Balmoral ConventionCentre, Federal Palace Hotel, Ahmadu Bello Way, Victoria Island, Lagos by 5.00p.m, The event will be hybrid, that is, both virtual (through Zoomteleconferencing) and physical to embrace high and quality participation acrossthe globe

 

Mr.Godwin Emefiele, CON, FCIB, Governor of Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN), willaddress the audience on recent economic and financial market developments overthe past year and the economic outlook for the coming year.

 

HisExcellency, Mr. Babatunde Sanwo-Olu, Executive Governor, Lagos State and OyoState counterpart His Excellency, Engr. Oluwaseyi Makinde is expected todeliver a goodwill message.

 

TheAnnual Bankers' Dinner is a thought-led socio-economic event of the industryand being the biggest high-profile social forum organized annually by theInstitute for the banking and finance industry, distinguished personalitiesincluding captains of industry, top Executives of Banks and non-bankinstitutions including CEOs and Chairmen, Diplomatic Missions, top governmentfunctionaries, legislators, accomplished businessmen, academics and otherstakeholders are usually gathered to interact and network under a pleasantsocial setting.

 

HisExcellency, His Excellency, Ambassador Cui Jianchun, Ambassador of the People'sRepublic of China to Nigeria, is expected to present the Toast of the FederalRepublic of Nigeria while Dr. (Mrs.) Ije Jidenma, F.IoD, HCIB, President,Institute of Directors, Nigeria, will propose the Toast of The CharteredInstitute of Bankers of Nigeria

 

Dr.Bayo Olugbemi, FCIB, President/Chairman of Council, CIBN, will deliver theWelcome Address as Chief host. At the same time 'Seye Awojobi, Ph.D., FCIB,Registrar/CEO, CIBN, will host the Dinner.

 

Othertop dignitaries expected at the Occasion include His Excellency, Senator AhmedIbrahim Lawan, Senate President; His Excellency, Rt (Hon) Femi Gbajabiamila,Speaker, House of Representatives; Mrs. Zainab Shamsuna Ahmed, Hon. Minister ofFinance; Alhaji Aliko Dangote, GCON, President/Chairman, Dangote Group; Mr.Fola Adeola, FCIB, OFR, MNI, Chairman, Fate Foundation, Dr. Jim Ovia, FCIB,Chairman, Zenith Bank Plc; Dr. Lamido Yuguda, DG, SEC; Dr. Tony Elumelu,Chairman, Heirs Holdings; Mr. Hassan Bello, FCIB, Managing Director/ChiefExecutive, NDIC; All-State Commissioners of Finance; all Deputy Governors andDirectors of Central Bank of Nigeria; all Chairmen and Managing Directors/CEOsof banks among others.

 

Thisyear's Dinner promises to be unique as the Organising Committee, under theleadership of the Managing Director/Chief Executive Officer of Wema Bank Plc,Mr. Ademola Adebise, FCIB, has introduced several new initiatives to make it anight to celebrate, recognize, impact and inspire within the industry.
