This edition of the "Economy and Politics" features Mr. Andrew Uaboi, the Country Manager, Visa Nigeria, as he speaks on "E-Commerce in Nigeria: Opportunities for Scaling".
According to him, the pandemic has created significant opportunities for the e-Commerce sector, especially those retailers entering the digital sphere for the first time and those consumers making their very first online purchases.
He cited the Visa COVID-19 CEMEA tracker, which covered Africa, Europe, and the Middle-east, revealing that the survey carried showed 84% of those surveyed in Nigeria mentioned that adopting digital payments platforms have had a positive impact on their businesses.
Looking at the future, he was optimistic about more shoppers purchasing online, including digital-savvy millennials and older users educated during COVID-19 on the benefits of e-Commerce.
