An efficient and productive public service is vital to the socio-economic development of any nation. Since the return to the fourth republic in 1999, there have been several efforts to reform the Nigerian public service in a way that promotes efficiency, productivity, and accountability.
Some of the key reforms are that of the Chief Jerome Udoji Commission and Professor Stephen Oronsaye's panel focused on building a globally competitive fit-for-size public service.
The private sector is also playing a vital role in supporting the reforms, championed by the AIG-Imoukhuede Foundation in areas like capacity development, providing a proper performance management system and public sector index.
This WebTV Economy and Politics special feature highlights the Developments in Public Service Reforms & the AIG Foundation's Role featuring Mrs. Winifred Oyo-Ita, former Head of Service of the Federation, Dr. Joe Abah, former DG, Bureau of Public Sector Reforms, and Mr. Aigboje Aig-Imoukhuede, CON Chairman and Founder, AIG-Imoukhuede Foundation.
