Average price paidby consumers for premium motor spirit (petrol) increased by 2.26% year-on-yearand month-on-month by 3.59% to N148.78 in August2020 from N143.63 in July 2020.

Average price paid by consumers for automotive gas oil(diesel) decreased by -1.14% month-on-month and by -3.14% year-on-year toN221.88 in August 2020 from to N224.43 in July 2020.

States with the highest average price of diesel wereBorno (N257.92), Adamawa (N246.00) and Taraba (N245.67).

States with the lowest average price of diesel wereRivers (N197.07), Enugu (N200.50) and Plateau (N205.83).

Averageprice per litre paid by consumers for National Household Kerosene increased by3.28% month-on-month and by 7.41% year-on-year to N346.53 in August 2020 fromN335.54 in July 2020.

Stateswith the highest average price per litre of kerosene were Ebonyi (N397.62) ,Enugu (N395.87), and Borno (N393.61).

Stateswith the lowest average price per litre of kerosene were Bayelsa (N257.78),Zamfara (N285.56) and Kebbi (N292.26).

Similarly,average price per gallon paid by consumers for National Household Keroseneincreased by 0.92% month-on-month and by 0.66% year-on-year to N1,218.48 inAugust 2020 from N1,207.43 in July 2020.

Stateswith the highest average price per gallon of kerosene were Ekiti (N1,387.89),Borno (N1,383.33) and Plateau (N1,354.55).

Stateswith the lowest average price per gallon of kerosene were Osun (N987.50),Anambra (N1,068.33) and Delta (N1,095.80).

Average price forthe refilling of a 5kg cylinder for Liquefied Petroleum Gas (Cooking Gas) increasedby 0.40% month-on-monthand decreased by -1.06% year-on-year to N1979.15 in August 2020 from N1971.34in July 2020.

Similarly,average price for the refilling of a 12.5kg cylinder for Liquefied PetroleumGas (Cooking Gas) increased by 0.24% month-on-month and decreased by -2.04%year-on-year to N4,136.80 in August 2020 from N4,126.82 in July 2020.
