At the close of trading on Tuesday May 24, 2022, a total volume of 257.63mln units of shares of Ecobank Transnational Inc (ETI) Plc valued at N2.96bn were traded. 

This represents 35.77% of the total market volumes of 720.19mln while the value of ETI shares traded represents 33.42% of the total market value traded which was put at N8.87bn.

Furthermore, the volume traded represents 1.40% of ETI’s total shares outstanding put at 18.35bn shares while the value of the shares traded also represents 1.35% of ETI market capitalization of N220.19bn as of May 24, 2022. 

A comparison of ETI’s volume traded with the previous day traded volume revealed that it increased by +18532% from 1.38m to 257.63m units traded.

The share price of  ETI closed flat at N12.00k at the close of trading.

Year-to-date, ETI shares have moved up by +37.93% as against +21.62% YTD return recorded by the NGXASI, outperforming the broad market index by 16.31%.

The huge volume traded today may be a related party transaction as the Pan-African bank has filed three (3) different directors dealing disclosure so far in the year 2022.
