TheGlobal Banking Education Standards Board (GBEStB) is delighted to announce theappointment of Alastair Graham as its first Secretary-General.

Upuntil the end of 2017, Alastair was Managing Director of the Global Associationof Risk Professionals (GARP); a position he held for nearly 10 years. Beforethat, Alastair was Senior Vice President and Head of Global Training at Moody’sInvestors Service and has also worked for several banks throughout his career,which spans over 40 years.

TheGBEStB[1]brings together the world’s leading banking institutes to provideinternationally agreed ethical and professional standards for high-quality andconsistent education of bankers.

It’sfirst Standard EthicsEducation and Training for Professional Bankers became effective from 1^stJune 2018.

Commentingon his appointment, Alastair Graham, FCIBS said:

“I am really excited with my new challenge where I willsupport the work of the board and the current 33 national banking institutes tobuild the world’s first international standards for the professional educationand training of bankers”

Dr. Segun Aina, OFR, Chair of the GBEStB added:

“TheBoard is quite delighted to have Alastair take up this key role as the firstSecretary-General of GBEStB. He brings on board a lot of very relevantexperiences and unique attributes which are required to take the organizationthrough its next phase of growth and relevance"

Meanwhile,the 4th meeting of the Global Council of the Global Banking Education StandardsBoard will take place in Mumbai, India on Monday 24th September and expected tobe attended by all the thirty three (33) national professional bankingorganizations as well as potential members. The meeting which will be chairedby Dr Segun Aina, Chairman of the body will hold the day before the 90thanniversary celebrations and International Conference of the India Institute ofBanking and Finance fixed for 25th September in Mumbai India.
