This edition of the Islamic Finance Weekly features Mrs. Momoh Adogie- Amametu, Lead stakeholder engagement officer at the Institute of Islamic Finance Professionals, IIFP made this point while providing her perspective on "Islamic Finance as a Tool for Women Empowerment". 

According to her Islamic finance products like Mudaraba, Musharakah, Murabaha, Ijara and Wakala can be deployed to support women entrepreneurs. She believes the introduction of Islamic finance wealth and its principles has made it possible for Muslim women and the general public to do business.

Speaking on the impact of Islamic microfinance for women entrepreneurs, she said the focus of Islamic finance is to distribute wealth and lift people out of poverty.
